MEER QUEER CONVERSATION
Everyone should be able to enjoy Haarlem’s nightlife safely and with pleasure! Unfortunately, that is not always the case. That’s why, during the Week van de Haarlemse Nacht, we are organizing a Meer Queer conversation, led by Daan Knijn (among others, programmer at Club3).
We will discuss different possibilities for making Haarlem’s nightlife safer for the queer community, for example through a well-functioning reporting point and other ideas.
This conversation will take place in a closed room so that a safe space can be created. Will you join the conversation? You can sign up for the Meer Queer conversation via the form. All information about the event can be found on the eventpage of Week van de Haarlemse Nacht.
During the Meer Queer conversation, Jerrald Justin will join us.
Jerrald is co-founder of RITA Community, a national platform committed to safety, visibility, and accountability. RITA stands for Report It Always, the conviction that injustice should not be ignored but must be named. What began as a discrimination reporting point has now also grown into a community centre — a place for education, culture, and encounters.
In the Meer Queer conversation, we will discuss with Jerrald various possibilities for making Haarlem’s nightlife safer for the queer community — including how RITA approaches this and what we can take from it for Haarlem.
Would you like to join the conversation? Sign up via the form.
The Meer Queer conversation always takes place in a closed room so that we can create a safe space.
