Rent a studio

Keep in mind that we don’t work with a waiting list. You can solely respond to a studio space when it’s offered online. If you want to stay informed about the new available studios, we recommend that you subscribe to our mailing list here, and follow us on instagram and facebook.

 

How the application process works:  

– To apply, please send a letter of motivation, portfolio and CV. These are sent digitally by emailing: ballotage@nieuwevide.nl 

– The selection committee then receives and evaluates the applications. 

– A maximum of three people are invited for an introductory meeting and to view the space. 

– After visiting, potential tenants have five days to indicate whether they would like to become a studio-member of Nieuwe Vide Studios. 

– The selection committee then selects the final new member. 

– The selected new member is asked to confirm within five days. If we do not hear from the selected new member on time, the invitation will be extended to the next choice of the selection committee.

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept applications for studio spaces if there is nothing currently empty?

No, we do not reply to emails with applications for studios outside of open calls for available studios.

Do you have a waiting list for studio space?

No, we do not keep a studio waiting list. 

If I have applied to an open call for an available studio, how long will it take for me to hear back?

Within 3 weeks of your mail (and within 5 weeks of the open call for an available studio), you will be informed whether or not you have been selected to rent a space from us. 

What happens if I’m selected to come for an introductory meeting and to see the space? 

We will invite a maximum of three people to come by for an introductory meeting and to view the space. After this, you have five days to let us know whether you would indeed like to rent the space, the team will then select the final tenant. If you have been selected, we would like to receive your confirmation within five days. 

If I am not selected this time, am I allowed to apply again? 

Yes, you are more than welcome to try again when another studio opens up.

How does the section commission work?

The selection commission consists of a rotating group of:

• studio-members from the building 
• board members
• members from the direction team

How are new members selected?

Nieuwe Vide has developed an assessment document to evaluate if an applicant qualifies for a space at Nieuwe Vide.  If the applicant qualifies, the selection commission then uses a democratic decision-making process to decide on the choice of a new member.
