For questions, you can contact us at info@nieuwevide.nl We can’t be reached by phone. We are open during exhibition times from Friday to Sunday 12:00 – 17:00 unless announced otherwise. You can always send us an email if you want to visit outside of these hours. We are only open during exhibition periods and we host Teken Or Leave It every other Wednesday at Nieuwe Vide in the evening. There are moments we are building up an exhibition, this means, Nieuwe Vide is not open for visitors unless something is on the agenda .
When visiting Nieuwe Vide, we kindly ask you to follow the instructions from our staff. During exhibition opening hours, we mostly work with (young) volunteers who will ensure your visit is as safe and welcoming as possible. Please be extra kind to them! Read our Code of Conduct here

Accessibility – Exhibition Space

Entrance
Nieuwe Vide is located at the Nieuwe Energie Terrein. The main entrance has two steps. If you are unable to use the stairs and ring the bell next to the entrance, please email or DM us on Instagram in advance so we can open the step-free side door for you or place our wheelchair ramp at the main entrance. Most of the time, the front door is open and volunteers can see you approaching.

Wheelchair access
The exhibition space is accessible to visitors using a wheelchair. We have additional movable ramps for thresholds; a volunteer will place these upon your arrival. We also have a wheelchair available in our building. Accessibility can vary depending on the type of wheelchair and the exhibition layout. We announce specific details per exhibition. The side door, which is ground level with two small thresholds, is used for wheelchair access directly to the exhibition space.

Accessibility Toilets

There are two toilets and they are gender neutral. Toilets are only accessible via stairs. Unfortunately, we currently do not have a wheelchair-accessible toilet. You can use the wheelchair-accessible toilets at Mooie Boules. This is located close to Nieuwe Vide.

Sound & Noise

Nieuwe Vide is a ‘broedplaats’ (creative workspace) that we share with artists and other creatives. The building may be lively and sometimes noisy. If an exhibition contains flashing lights, loud sounds, or is not suitable for children, we announce this clearly on our website, social media, and at the entrance. Dogs are often present in the building.

Animals

Dogs are welcome, provided they are on a leash in the exhibition space and do not disturb people or artworks. Assistance dogs are always welcome.

Communication & Language

We usually communicate in Dutch and English and some basic sign language. If something is unclear, feel free to ask. Most of us speak English and some of us just English and Spanish. If you talk to someone who doesn’t speak the language you prefer, just ask for a colleague—we’ll figure it out!  We try to consider accessibility for visually impaired visitors. If something doesn’t work for you, please let us know. For the exhibition is an audio tour available.

Contact & Feedback

If you foresee any issues or have questions or suggestions, feel free to email us at info@nieuwevide.nl. We truly appreciate feedback, especially about accessibility, and we hope to welcome you soon at Nieuwe Vide!
