Mark your calendar for every weekend in November, because Nieuwe Vide Artspace and Studios is officially turning 30! The autumn exhibition of Nieuwe Vide – which is also part of Kunstlijn (the oldest open studio route in Haarlem) – is an opportunity every year to connect new artistic interests and relationships within our Nieuwe Vide community by opening the doors of our creative hub. Every weekend in November, there will be something happening at Nieuwe Vide.
Since our artistic direction is focused on unraveling, revealing, and shifting systematic forms of inequality, the autumn exhibition also turns the gaze onto ourselves, practicing a form of artistic (self)critique. To celebrate creative experiment, community, and the continuity of our existence under uncertain circumstances, in 2025 we present the exhibition: Vide Cultura: Through rot and renewal. With the future in mind, we will recycle, compost, transform, and grow.
Every Saturday in November, there will be an afternoon/evening program in our exhibition space to celebrate who we are and who we will become. Performances by various artists will take center stage in this program. These artists have been selected through an open call and will be announced soon. In addition to these performances, visitors can enjoy our exhibition during the weekends, with plenty of things to see and do at Nieuwe Vide.
During Kunstlijn (November 1 & 2 and November 7 & 8), there will also be open studios by our Nieuwe Vide Studiomakers. Keep an eye on our socials and this newsletter, because soon we’ll share more about upcoming events and a party… after all, you only turn 30 once.
