TRANS*PERFORMATIVITY: An Anatomy of Identity – workshop

ned / eng

This workshop, led by AURA, is aimed at trans* people, but open to anyone, with or without artistic training, interested in exploring notions of identity and fluid states of the body.

How to history and transpose our experience? In the first phase, we’ll resort to processes of internalisation and self-discovery. And then transform our memory into movement – of the body, of words, of objects – while deconstructing and restructuring who we are.

A safe space will be provided where each participant can share and/or listen to different experiences, elaborate their life story and transcribe it into an artistic contribution using different materials and materialities.

Throughout the workshop, different methodologies and exercises are shared with the participants around performance art and transfeminism, focusing on the concepts of consciousness, healing and slow movement.

This workshop allows a maximum of 20 participants, you can apply here.

*Trans includes anyone within the transgender spectrum (trans men, trans women, non-binary, androgynous, demiboy, demigirl, two-spirit, genderqueer, genderfluid, agender, intersex, gender non-conforming, crossdressers, gender questioning people, etc.)
