The Queer Visual Storytelling Network (QVSN) is a follow-up from the exhibition, This Body Of Ours. Which started when nine young comic artists asked the question: What does the future of comics and graphic novels in the Netherlands look like? Their answer was a vocal, bold, queer, colourful comic-collection and an exposition. This exposition opened simultaneously with the Stripdagen Haarlem and brought a lot of activities: like a Zinefest from the Young Feminist Collective, a Show & Tell, Flash Tattoos, a Teken or leave it workshop and a Paneltalk.
In May 2026 Nieuwe Vide officially launched the network through the exhibition Our Ever-Expanding Body. This exhibition became the second project of This Body Of Ours. For this exhibition multiple murals were created in a collaboration between mentors and mentees. They all worked together to launch the network with a good start. The kickoff for the murals was a collaboration between Nieuwe Vide and Stripdagen Haarlem.
We are currently working on collecting important resources for artists and setting up meetings, gatherings and networking events. Our goal: Creating a solid, sustainable foundation for queer storytellers.
