Nieuwe Vide Studios: A Good Work Will Work

ned / eng

When is a work finished? When did a painting become what it is supposed to be? Does the material determine what a painting is? The exhibition “A Good Work Will Work” is a multidisciplinary exhibition in which the studio artists of Nieuwe Vide present the process of ‘finishing’ a work. In addition, they ask themselves questions such as: Is there life for the artwork after completion of the creative process? What determines whether a work is ready? Is it the artist, the viewer or the art institution where the work will be placed?

This exhibition is an initiative of the studio artists of Nieuwe Vide. The studios of the Nieuwe Vide are studio spaces that are rented out to people in the cultural and creative sector. Among the tenants are artists (painters, sculptors, audiovisual artists), illustrators, designers, animators and a visual effects studio, a photography and text agency, photographers and a musical instrument builder.
