Babygurl translates the life of a trans woman into vulnerable folk music. The hope and the hollowness, the love and the loneliness; by naming it, songwriter Dorus Funnekotter makes it real. Her raw and often bittersweet songs feel close to the heart, and leave the listener haunted.
Nieuwe Vide is an cultural and art space in Haarlem with a focus on experimentation and queer joy. We create exhibitions, host open draw evenings, and on February 24th, we’re opening an Artivist library: the Living Room, where all kinds of events will take place.
