In collaboration with Stichting de Baan, this time we’ll be working with LEGO. Inspired by ‘Oma Lego’, we’ll be building lego ramps for every little doorstep/threshold, making it easier for wheelchair users to move from space to space within Nieuwe Vide. At the same time, they will become beautiful, colorful constructions.
In this way, we want to make art and culture not only literally more accessible for people with disabilities, but also inspire other institutions to follow this good example!
Do you have some LEGO lying around? Do you feel like getting creative, or would you like to sponsor us? Bring your LEGO to Nieuwe Vide! A collection bin is ready and waiting.
Of course, you’re also welcome to work on your own projects or simply come by for the cozy atmosphere!
Teken or Leave It is a low-threshold evening at Nieuwe Vide where you’re welcome to draw, create, or simply just be. Everything is allowed, nothing is required. Every other Wednesday there is either a workshop or an open draw. More info: https://nieuwevide.com/teken-or-leave-it/
Beforehand there is Queer Kitchen!
Queer Kitchen is a monthly safe and cozy dinner table for queer people and allies in Haarlem, with simple but tasty food based on ‘pay as you can’ (€5–€10).
Everyone who feels colorful or queer is welcome on Wednesday evenings from 17:00 to 20:00, before Open Draw at Nieuwe Vide.
