We’re back with Teken or Leave It at Nieuwe Vide!
Teken or Leave It evenings take place every other Wednesday, starting at 7:00 PM. These evenings alternate between open draw sessions and workshops!
On September 9, there will be an Open Draw, and on September 23, a workshop by Mohammed Abushabanr: *Tatreez Lab – A Stitch Without Thread*. Tickets via Eventbrite
For the Open Draw on September 9, simply drop by; we ask for a €3 donation*.
Come enjoy some drawing time with a cup of tea and work on your own project, or get inspired by examples, materials (available in our project space), or the people around you.
On September 23 at 7:00 PM, a workshop will be led by Mohammed Abushaban.
Tatreez is a traditional Palestinian form of cross-stitch embroidery where motifs tell stories of identity, family, and place. Together with artist Mohammed Abushaban, participants will experiment with Tatreez motifs and alternative techniques—such as 3D stamps and textiles—while exploring themes like memory, identity, and displacement. For an additional fee, you can create a design on a scarf.* Click here for more information.
