Nieuwe Vide @ Boring festival: HER/Three Part Series

ned / eng

6 and 7 February, Nieuwe Vide is once again taking part in Boring Festival, this time at two locations!

On the late evening of 6 February, we will open the exhibition  HER/Three Part Series, with a performance by Hannah Rojer at 00:30 at Club3, in Patronaat with work by artists Eva Zain van der Horst, Rosa ‘t Hart en Bink ter Weijde.

At the Frans Hals Museum (Locatie Hal), the performative exhibition by Mees Elias van Zanten and Lucas Braak, Ik wil een piemel, (I want a penis) will be on view on Friday and Saturday from 19:00 until 00:00. Performance times: Friday and Saturday 20:10h. Click on the title for more information on that location.

Exhibition: HER/Three Part Series
Three artists, Rosa ’t Hart, Bink ter Weijde and Eva Zain van der Horst, will each individually enter into conversation with pole dance performer Hannah Rojer. Drawing inspiration from these conversations, they will create new work. This will be presented on 6 February during the opening of Boring Festival at Patronaat/Club3.

Each approaches their artistic practice in their own way, resulting in a diverse and rich collection of works. In parallel, Hannah Rojer develops a new performance based on the same conversations, which will remain a surprise for everyone until the opening. This creates a collaboration in which the makers influence one another without knowing the other’s final outcome.

Eva Zain van der Horst
Eva Zain van der Horst is an interdisciplinary artist who investigates how photography relates to materiality, context and corporeality. In her work, she questions her own role and position of power as a photographer within the process of image-making.

Rosa ’t Hart
Rosa ’t Hart is a self-taught artist who creates expressionistic, naïve and above all intuitive works. In her painting practice, she explores and plays with different subjects and searches for a visual translation.

Bink ter Weijde
Bink ter Weijde is a photo/video artist focused on social dynamics and societal afflictions. By zooming in on individuals, he finds stories that extend beyond the camera.

Performance
The exhibition opens on Friday night at 12:30 with a performance by Hannah Rojer.

Hannah (she/her) is a queer performer, stripper and pole dancer. Her pieces speak to themes like the fetishization and marginalization of black and brown bodies and the womanist perspective.

As a self-taught dancer, Hannah approaches movement and dance as somatic practice, a basis for personal activism.

*A womanist is a Black feminist or feminist of color who focuses on the unique experiences and intersectional oppressions (race, class, gender) of Black women, seeking wholeness for all people, male and female, not just women, and celebrating Black womanhood and culture.

Nieuwe Vide & Patronaat/Club 3
From November 2025, Nieuwe Vide and Patronaat started a special collaboration. Together, they offer space to (young) artists from Haarlem and the surrounding area to present their work in the EXPO space of Patronaat.

Within this program, Nieuwe Vide will realize four exhibitions at Patronaat during the 2025/2026 season. The exhibitions provide space for young and/or queer makers working around themes of the night, experimentation and diversity.

The works, often situated at the intersection of image and sound, have a direct link to the night and can be seen during Patronaat’s opening hours, including club nights and concerts. In this way, a unique cross-pollination emerges between music, art and audience.

Makers who wish to exhibit or pitch their work can contact info@nieuwevide.com. We particularly encourage artists who work around themes of the night, and who may also wish to apply for support via Nachtmakers, to respond.
