Teken or Leave it: Una Jongenelis
Una Jongenelis (Amsterdam, 1997) is a cartoonist and visual artist. In addition to her visual arts practice, she studied Psychology and Orthopedagogy. In her work, topics from psychology are often discussed in an accessible and light-hearted way. For example, she made a comic about sexual harassment and is now working on an animated film about panic attacks.
Drawing Workshop
During the workshop on March 27th, we will look at how you can translate your own experiences into images and how to do this in a way that you can reach other people with it. Nieuwe Vide is working towards the @stripdagenhaarlem in June, where we want to think about image, impact, personal stories and feminism and give a platform to political makers.
Teken of Leave It is a bimonthly evening at Nieuwe Vide: for illustrators, makers and all kinds of people who like to create. During these evenings we can work together, learn from each other, or simply work separately but side by side on individual projects. But Teken or Leave It is above all a moment to relax and create. We provide a space and materials to experiment with.
One evening a month there is an open drawing evening – and one on the other evening thematic workshop: this is given by a guest artist. The next time there will be another open drawing evening. etc. For more info follow @tekenorleaveit on instagram.
