Spreading Seeds

During the Stripdagen Haarlem 2022 (cartoon festival) and in the exhibition ULTIMATUM (4horsemen), the theme of world building was central. What worlds were created by the apocalyptic 4horsemen? What do we see on the wall? And which worlds would we build ourselves?
In Spreading Seeds: Building Worlds in the Ashes of the Apocalypse, we will sit together in the exhibition space during Teken or Leave It to reflect on the current exhibition ULTIMATUM (4horsemen) while drawing to build on the traces left behind by the 4horsemen. We do this through speculative fiction and concepts from the books written by adrienne maree brown (emergent strategy, pleasure activism and holding change).
So come to Teken or Leave It at Nieuwe Vide on Wednesday 6 and 20 July from 19:00-22:00. No prior knowledge is necessary and anyone can participate. After the summer break in August, we will continue drawing in September and work towards a finissage.
In the first moths of 2023, there will be subsequent panel discussions about the future of visual storytelling in the Netherlands. Finally, as a result of this process, the Nieuwe Vide team is working on a text with the theme heritage.
